![]() Get a cheap sacrificial vice-grips, you will be beating on its handle and subjecting it to too much heat for a tool you "like". Drill the screw out with the bit that is a tiny bit bigger than the threads and then replace the burner with a slightly bigger, self tapping sheet metal screw. Then get a center punch and make a decent divot in the middle of the old screw so your drill bit can't wander. Be careful of sparks, you don't want to catch the town on fire like a buddy of mine almost did with his angle grinder. If the bolt extractors don't work, then get a grinder (angle grinder or dremel/rotary tool) and cut the head off the screw. If you want some that work get the ones that fit around the screw (dewalt is what I have, but there are others), they're called bolt extractors are are stronger and work better than those thin breakable ones. Those screw extractors are junk, don't waste your money. Then try a pair of GOOD pliers (knipex, Channellocks etc) and see if they can budge it. The first thing I'd do is get a wore brush or wheel on a drill in there to clean the rust and junk off. r/DIY now has a Discord channel! Come chat with us!ĭid you miss the AMA with Patrick DiJusto?
